Legend Of Zelda Turns 25!

Break out the Lon Lon Milk and a Tingle Piñata! This week marks the 25th birthday of The Legend of Zelda series. It was exactly 25 years ago Monday that we were introduced to our favorite ever-so-kidnappable princess being rescued by our favorite guy in a green hat (and there’s not a lot of green-hatted people I like.)

Ever since the game’s initial release in 1986, the characters and gameplay of the LoZ series have captured the hearts of both western and Japanese audiences. Zelda’s come a long way since then, going from 8-bit on the old NES to 3D on the N64 to HD on the Nintendo Wii.

As one of my favorite series of all time, I’d like to hold up a glass bottle and say here’s to another 25 years of saving the princess!

In honor of this birthday, I’d recommend cake. But we all know that’s a lie. So here are some Zelda-themed cookies to celebrate with:
