Behold...the jelly tank

Jelly Car 2 is the sequal (obviously) to Jelly Car. This time however instead of keeping the same things, and improving them Disney Interactive Studios went full out, adding tons of new gameplay options, while fine tuning the gameplay. The gameplay hasn’t changed from the previous game with touch controls for forward and backward, and tilt controls for… tilting. You can still make your jelly vehicle grow by tapping it as well. The new additions are the two power-ups. The sticky tires, and balloon. The sticky tires allow you to stick to any jelly block, while the balloon allows you to access new heights with limited control. These power-ups are found in many levels and really add to the gameplay. There are also some new gameplay modes, including tilt, factory, and long jump. In tilt your car is attached to a sled and you must make it to the end of the level using only tilting and gravity. Factory is a sorting game where you sort shapes into the correct bins, although not related to cars in any way it is still a fun, jelly filled mini-game. In long jump you try and pick up as much speed as possible before launching of a ramp, the further you go the better you’ve done. The same art style has been used as in the previous game, this time with more defined jelly wobbling. Another new feature that relates with this art style is the vehicle

The level editor

editor. You choose from several bodiesincluding, a cement mixer, a sports car, even a tank! Then you can choose colours for the body and wheels of your vehicle. Along similar lines is the new stage editor that gives you a simple set of tools to allow you to create your own fun stages. As in the original speed is the aim of the game, and now there is an online leader-board in which to share your times. The music is quite fitting, filled with little jiggle sounds that go well with the theme. The game over music is even light-hearted. Overall this game is quite enjoyable, and great for playing on short trips. If you liked the original then you’ll probably like this one as well. Due to its cheap cost, and great value, but lack of unlockable vehicles, or achievements 4 out of 5.
