Such a weird introduction...

Such a weird introduction...

This is probably the oldest game I have ever played, which is pretty sad. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone has you take on the role of… um, well, Harry Potter, as he takes on his first year at Hogwarts. Since we have the background info done, on with the review.

Get on with it, old man.

Get on with it, old man.

For even an old game, this game is rather small. And the 4 elements all contradict each other in a way. You have rather poor graphics, yet good sound effects. You have amazing gameplay, but it kills the story. And we find a lack of a real challenge until the end of the game, which might prove too challenging for a few.

You start off in the Entrance Hall talking to Albus Dumbledore. You then head up the stairs and follow Ron to Fred and George, who take you into a secret room to teach you the basics, such as climbing, jumping, how to avoid Peeves, etc. Just like other games, the first level is the tutorial, and it ends with meeting Malfoy, his idiot friends, and Hermione. Then you finally get to class and learn your first spell.

Yeah, I learned Flipendo!

Yeah, I learned Flipendo!

This game takes a steer from the real story, because the first two-thirds of the game is challenges, errands, or Quidditch, with the real plot throwing itself out very briefly in a few places.
